LadyBug is her name, but Lovebug would fit her just as good!
If you’re looking for an easy going, laid back, loving dog to add to your family, LadyBug is your girl! She has yet to meet a human, a dog, or a cat that she doesn’t get along with perfectly.

LadyBug was living as a pregnant stray in a small rural Mississippi town for most of her life, and gave birth to at least two litters of puppies while living there. She, along with her babies and several other dogs, lived on the streets, finding shelter under the porches and awnings of the small downtown businesses.

The patrons of the town would often share their leftovers from local restaurants with her and the other dogs.
They learned how to survive on the streets, until one night, their lives took a drastic turn around. A fire started, engulfing all of the surrounding buildings and businesses; only burned rubble remained.

LadyBug, her 4 tiny puppies, one of her older puppies from a previous litter, and other dogs were still living within the burned buildings. They were in poor shape by the time that this was discovered; hungry, dehydrated, dirty, and scared. The city officials quickly notified one of our southern rescue partners, and they immediately got the dogs and took them into foster homes. Only two of her tiny babies survived due to poor health when they were found.
LadyBug and her little family are healthy, happy, and ready to find their forever families now.

LadyBug shares the home with several foster siblings of all ages and sizes, and she is great with all of the other dogs. She’s gentle and tolerant with the smaller puppies, and playful and affectionate with her adult siblings.
She isn’t food or toy reactive at all, and has never shown any kind of behavior problems at all.

She is also very gentle and loving with small children and cats. She loves time alone in her large crate, and never refuses to go into her crate or cries to get out.
This sweet girl is also completely housetrained, and walks perfectly on a leash.

LadyBug likes a chew toy occasionally, but isn’t terribly interested in dog toys. Her interest is in the TREATS! She loves any and all doggie treats. She also enjoys chasing a tennis ball in the back yard, taking long walks around town, and taking naps in the sunshine.

Her favorite activity by far is snuggling with her human family, on the couch or in their bed, and getting nonstop belly rubs….her foster mom easily complies with these requests.

She is a precious gal, looking for a family to return the love that she’s so eager to give!!

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
