Hitcher
Age: Young
Gender: Male
Breeds: Terrier
Hitcher has an interesting story to tell - he traveled all the way from Florida to Tennessee and we have no idea how he did it.
Hitcher was found as a stray just outside Memphis. Amazingly, he was microchipped, and his dad answered the email letting him know that his dog had been found. At first, he was very excited to hear that his dog had been found, and we were thrilled. Sadly, the happiness was short-lived, as his dad then said he really couldn’t take him back, so, for now, he is all ours.
When he was found, it was obvious that he had a right front leg issue - an x-ray showed a complete fracture of his lower leg. We wonder how long he has traveled in that condition, and it breaks our hearts. He’s been evaluated, and a surgical repair of the fracture is scheduled.
As he’s pretty new to us, we are just getting to know him; so far, he’s doing well with the other dogs in the house, even while in what has to be some decent pain.
He’s a lovely boy and deserves a human who would travel across the country to get him back!
As we get to know him better, we will add more information here!

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
