Toby is an energetic, happy dog who loves to run, and he is a joy to watch and be with. And he runs off leash, never goes far, and comes back when called.

Toby was dumped in rural Texas and found his way to a foster home. Why anyone would let go of such a beautiful dog is beyond imagination. He obviously has spent time in a home as he does great in a house, likes car rides, doesn’t mind baths, and sleeps all night in his crate.

He is a large dog and likes to jump, but someone has trained him not to jump on people. He is gentle and affectionate and loves to be petted. His luxurious fur makes him a joy to pet. He thinks he is a lap dog and at 60 lbs., he does a great job of keeping your lap warm.

Toby LOVES to play fetch—and even brings the ball back!!. And he likes to play tug o’ war.

This gorgeous boy already knows Come, Sit, and Shake, and is very treat motivated…wonderful for further training!!!

Toby’s snout looks like he ran into a door as a puppy (probably born that way). but it makes him look like he is smiling all the time. He has a really loud bark, but only barks when he is all excited for a walk or play.

If you have a heart for an active, happy dog who needs a place where he can run, Toby will be a fun, loving companion.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
