Brachy has heard you’re looking for a new exercise buddy. She hears everything! Just look at those ears.

She is an incredible little pup! Spunky and goofy and LOVES to play. She really respects humans and loves being around them. She loves puzzles, games, scent work, treats, lounging and snuggling on the couch. She loves to watch TV! It’s hysterical. And she will watch the birds out the window. She’s entertaining and goofy and incredibly sweet!

She and her two male siblings have had a very rough start in life - totally resulting from human behavior and unacceptable. This little family was “rescued” from the Memphis Animal Shelter at about 9 weeks of age and left in boarding for months on end - months and months of boarding with little stimulation and exercise. Totally unacceptable - we learned about them by mistake and took them from their situation,

So for now she has some challenges but she has an amazing foster family who are working with her and she is super receptive!!

For now, this is what is important about Brachi -

~ Brachy needs a LOT of exercise. She will not thrive in a home where she gets one or two 20 minute walks a day. She would thrive in a home where she gets extensive exercise- physically and mentally. No couch potatoes need apply. She would do really well in a working role of some kind. She has an incredible nose and a constant need for mental stimulation.

~ She’s feisty and loves to roughhouse. She does not bark. She does occasionally “talk.” She uses her mouth to tell you want she wants sometime but this is getting better - not biting - mouthy - she has no hands to express herself so….

~ Brachi loves her tows and will chew on them to the very end - this is a dog who needs mental stimulation - she’s not been destructive so far but has not been given the opportunity to be.

~ She is HIGHLY food motivated.

~ She’s shy to new people - she will warm up but it will take some work - we expect this will eventually get much better as she learns more about the world.

She’s great in her kennel. She sleeps in there at night just fine.

Even though this girl and her brothers got a rough deal, we are going to make sure they get a better shot going forward. Wouldn’t you love to be a part of that process?

With patience and knowledge the sky’s the limit for this sweet girl.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - 

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
