Nola would thrive in a farm setting - she loves being off leash at the farm just hanging out in the fields and other animals. She is NOT an apartment dog or a dog that will be inside all day while you work - if you have a job where she can go with out and maybe outside, that would be amazing.

She LOVES the car. She will sit in the car for HOURS doesn’t chew or even climb over the seat. Happy as a clam.

All of the above information is from Nola’s current owner who adopted her recently but as it turns out, it is just not a good fit. Nola needs a quiet home - kids coming and going, lots of people in and out are not for her - at least not now.

We are going to give you all the information so you can decide if this is a girl you can adopt and help.

It seems she’s struggling with separation anxiety - someone who is home and able to take her lot of place at least to start is going to be key - we can work with an adopter with behavioral help

She’s having housetraining issues - at home only - when she goes with her mom to work at the barn, she goes outside all the time and does her business. It’s clear to us this sweet girl was left outside all the time - had never lived inside until rescued and upon arriving to her new home, reverted back to her prior behaviors; her foster mom in Texas did not note these behaviors.

We believe another dog will be helpful to her in her new home - sometimes having a happy, confident dog in the home will help tremendously but she’s a know herder so a dog must be able to handle this - your experience with herder breeds will be beneficial and is needed with this girl.

This is a dog who can flourish with the right direction and possibly anti-anxiety medication which we will start.

Nola will be work - there is no question. It might be frustrating but look at that face and think if it’s worth it to you? It will be for her.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
