Meet Katie Bug: Your New Best Friend

Katie Bug is a delightful and loving dog who has brought immense joy to her foster family. Her journey began on the streets of Memphis, where she was being cared for by All 4s Rescue League. Thankfully, Paws New England stepped in when Katie was picked up by the animal shelter, giving her a second chance at life.

Since June, Katie has been thriving in her southern foster home, and her foster family cannot say enough wonderful things about her! She’s been a model resident with no issues at all.

Katie Bug is crate trained, but she’s also proven to be trustworthy outside of her crate with no accidents in months. She gets along wonderfully with her two male German Shepherd foster siblings and can be left out with them for short periods without any problems.

While Katie hasn’t lived with children, her gentle and kind demeanor suggests she would do well with kids aged 7 and older. Please note, Katie is reactive to cats and would do best in a home without feline friends.

One of Katie’s favorite pastimes is snuggling up to you while you watch TV. Her foster family has been working on her habit of nibbling on fingers—always done out of love—and she’s making great progress. A simple “no teeth” reminder followed by a kiss helps her understand.

Katie has a unique way of communicating her needs with a low growl, whether she wants to go out, eat, or just get some attention. This is not a sign of aggression; it’s simply Katie’s way of talking to you.

Katie Bug is the sweetest, most loving dog in the world. Whoever adopts her will be showered with joy and love from this precious girl. Don’t miss out on the chance to bring Katie Bug into your home and heart!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
