This gorgeous lady was found as a stray in a very rural area of Tennessee. The details of her past are unknown. Rosie’s story began the day she was rescued.

While in foster care, Rosie lived with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Rosie is not a big player but enjoys a good tug-of-war.
Sometimes, Rosie becomes startled when resident dogs get rowdy. When that happens, she reacts appropriately with a grumble.

Rosie has been introduced to cats and did well with laid-back cats that ignored her. More reactive cats experienced a game of chase. Overall, Rosie was very tolerant even when the cat hissed at her.

Rosie is adaptable, well-mannered, and intelligent. She kennels on command and will bark if she is ready to get out.
If left out, she is a great house guest, potty trained (with a doggie door), and does not get into anything.
She rarely gets on the furniture and sleeps on the floor beside the bed.

Rosie minds well on a leash, keeps tension at first, and will loosen when asked. Her hereditary breed traits kick in when Rosie gets excited, so watch your ankles! She can be mouthy and a bit rough when her humans play with her, but it is truly all fun and games.

Rosie’s ideal adopter includes an active caretaker who enjoys an active outside healthy lifestyle within the herding breed experience.

If you find cattle-dog traits redeeming values, this is your dream dog!

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
