Sammie’s journey took an unexpected turn when a concerned guest overheard his “owner” at a local motel discussing plans to abandon him on the streets due to housing difficulties. Thankfully, fate intervened, and Sammie found himself welcomed into the loving care of one of our amazing fosters.
This spirited boy thrives on being in the midst of the action, whether it’s romping around with his foster buddies or soaking up the company of his favorite people. He’s on the lookout for an active household, preferably with another dog to keep him company and join in on the fun.
Sammie’s adventurous spirit knows no bounds, but his enthusiasm for exploration calls for a secure yard with a sturdy stockade or vinyl fence. With the ability to scale a six-foot chain link fence in the blink of an eye, Sammie is a master of escape artistry. In unfenced areas, he’ll require a long lead until he’s mastered recall training.
A true foodie at heart, Sammie will do anything for a tasty treat, making him a highly trainable companion. He’s not food aggressive towards people and is quite comfortable with food bowl handling. However, he prefers to dine solo and will need separate feeding arrangements if sharing space with another dog.
Sammie’s love for adventure extends to car rides, where he eagerly hops in at the sight of an open door. With his fearless demeanor, he’s ready to be your ultimate adventure buddy, accompanying you on every journey with excitement and joy.
While he’s not a fan of confinement in his crate, Sammie can be persuaded with the promise of a delicious treat. He may prefer to be where the action is, but he’s learning that sometimes the best adventures start from the comfort of his crate.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
