Lucy—LOCAL GIRL!
Age: Young
Gender: Female
Breeds: Retriever, Crossbreed
Just look at that precious face!
This is Lucy, a sweet girl that was taken in by animal control after being ambushed by another stray. She received needed vet care and will not have any lasting physical effects from her injuries.
She is thriving in her foster home…..can be a little shy around new people, but after a few days, just enjoys to be around them. She loves attention, spending time with her fur friends and humans. She’s excellent on a leash, has excellent recall, and LOVES to learn new things.
So far, Lucy knows sit, go to her bed, give you her paw, hold, and she potties outside.
She also is developing great house manners.. know to stay off the counters and come when called.
Lucy is friends with dogs of all sizes, adores playing fetch, going for car rides, playing with toys, and exploring outside.
Lucy crates very well and feels safe in her kennel. She will retreat to it when she needs a time out. Her favorite treat is frozen peanut butter inside of a Kong.
Lucy is fine around kids, but she will bark at sudden movements and noises, so dog savvy kids who will not be startled by her talking are better for her.
If you are looking for a forever friend that will put a smile on your face, here you go!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -
Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
