Rain
Age: Young
Gender: Female
Breeds: German Shepherd Dog, American Staffordshire Terrier
Rain is truly a WONDERFUL, beautiful and happy girl! You know the expression “right as rain”? It means safe and comfortable after a bad experience. That describes her perfectly! Rain was a last-minute rescue from Memphis Animal Services and was scheduled to be euthanized, but her foster mom with a local Memphis rescue group saved her.
Rain is so smart and has learns quickly and trains well. She now knows several commands (“sit” & “lie down”), is crate-trained and house-trained. She gets along well with the other dogs in the home and has been quite motherly with two puppies that were recently fostered at the home. She does well in her crate.
Rain likes to chase the cats - so cats are not recommended. She loves her chew toys and enjoys running and playing in her yard. She is learning leash manners.
Rain does get sick in the car, but does well once she receives Cerenia.
Rain was boarded recently when her foster mom was away and won the heart of the owner there. The owner is also a dog trainer and said: “Rain is a lovely, sweet girl that smiles all the time. She got along well with the other dogs at my kennel. Rain wants to please and is quick to learn. She will make someone a very nice pet.”
Her ideal family should be active and enjoy the outdoors, a family that will include her in their adventures. Bonus points if you let her sleep with you too - she loves to snuggle on the bed or couch.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -
Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
