Shaw–Have you ever seen such a dog who is so stunning and unique looking? And he is even more amazing in person.

BEFORE PAWS NEW ENGLAND:

Shaw was found as a stray and taken to a shelter where he was so scared, he would not leave his kennel. He was a few hours from being euthanized, when a Paws Southern Foster rescued him and gave this boy a chance to come out of his shell.

ENERGY LEVEL:

A zooming couch snuggler! He has a decent amount of energy, but after he gets his zoomies out and plays with his toys or goes on a fun adventure or walk, he will snuggle up with you on the couch. He is also a great work from home friend and loves to lay by your feet. He needs someone willing to take him on walks or a fenced in yard he can run around in (but not required).

WhAT WE LOVE:

He is such a sweetheart! He loves every human and dog he meets. He is a gentle guy who really loves his humans. He is a loyal companion and truly the perfect addition to anyone looking for a new best friend. Also, those ears!

WhAT HE LOVES:

The outside! This boy loves to just lay outside and soak up the sun. He also loves a good walk in the rain. He will sit down and stare out at the birds and water and observes everything. He also loves a good belly scratch. Loves a good sploot on the floor.

ITS JUST WEIRD:

He snores like a human when he sleeps! Sometimes its hard to tell if he is snoring or his foster dad.

JoKING/NOT JOKING:

He turns into a major goofball when he is wet from the rain or a bath. He loves to shove his face into some couch cushions and flop around.

INDEPENDENCE LEVEL:

He loves to be with his humans, but not on top of them. He likes to be within eye sight of his people and cuddle up with you on the couch, but gives you your space as well. He will follow you around the house sometimes a bit like your shadow. He does pretty well left alone in the house and has not been destructive from what we have seen.

CAMPAIGN SLOGAN:

“Sweet Shaw will Steal Your Heart!” It is hard not to fall in love with this guy when you meet him.

WHAT HE KNOWS:

Sit, stay, and lay down! He is working on paw and some other commands and is super smart and easy to train. He does great on a leash.

WHAT HE IS WORKING ON:

Only nibling his toys when he gets excited and not the couch pillows. He is not destructive, but will put his mouth on them sometimes.

DOGS:

He does great with dogs! He wants to play with everyone he meets. He would do well in a home on his own or in a home with another larger dog. He may play too much with a smaller dog if living with them in the home.

CaTS:

We are not sure about cats, but he has not tried to chase any small animals in the yard yet. He will just stare at them and seems interested, but not aggressive at all.

KIDS:

Respectful, dog-savvy kids would do well, but he is a very gentle guy and would be a great family dog.

HoUSE TRAINED:

He is fully house trained!

CRATE TRAINED:

He will sleep in his crate at night, although he will try to sleep in 5 different places first. He does not love being in his crate during the day and he will let you know.

This incredibly handsome loving guy is ready to have lots of fun with his forever family and be your best friend.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
