Eden has joined our Paws NE Family after her senior owners had to let her go - they live in rural Tennessee and are just getting older and finding it hard to care for her. Dad has progressive Parkinson’s, making it super difficult. She’s been a farm dog whose mate left two weeks ago, and she’s been tough to keep on the property since then. A fence is a must - 6 ft fence is highly recommended. Great Pyr experience or other livestock guardian dog experience isn’t an absolute requirement but a fence is - AND ANOTHER DOG FOR HER TO PLAY WITH.

We hear that you can’t be sad with this pretty girl around. She only knows one state of mind…Happy. Eden tries to make every person and animal that crosses her path her new best friend with a play bow, and then she drops and rolls over for a belly rub. Eden was happiest when she had a dog to play with. She loves going for walks, exploring, and meeting new people and other dogs. This goofy girl occasionally gets in the tub by herself. She is laid back and content just to be in the room with you. She is eager to please and sensitive to correction, so she catches on very quickly.

She’s lived on the farm for 1 ½ years and, prior to that, was in an apartment for 1 ½ years which we know was not a great situation for her - she loved the farm.

Would be happiest with a dog friend to play with. If bored or alone she may look for ways to escape. She also takes cues and learns from other dogs. She will also match another dog’s energy so if they are rowdy, she will be rowdy!

She is very sweet and calm (unless playing with another dog). She does not jump on people. She likes to lay around and watch everything going on if her foster is working on the yard or the house. she is a goofy puppy.

Eden is sensitive and will train well but does get her feelings hurt so needs someone with patience. She isn’t showing all Great Pyr absolute traits yet other than not coming when called (a bit stubborn). She hasn’t really barked until recently when she heard people next door because she wasn’t exposed to that on the farm.

She does show signs, true to her breed of watching the property from one spot.

Now that she has been rescued and is back inside her foster home, she has made it clear that she missed a couch to nap on and someone’s feet to lay on. This girl loves to take long naps on her back with all fours up in the air and talks and stretches when she wakes up.

She is ready to go on adventures with her new person and always calls shotgun on car trips.

Requirements - Fenced yard (no apartments w/o yard exposure, another happy/playful dog for her to play with in the fenced yards - for this dog, these are non-negotiable.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
