Pizza Pete or Petey to his foster family.

He’s one of those dogs that wakes up every day in a good mood - seriously - it’s true. He has several foster brothers and sisters (canine) and he loves each of them; he licks their faces as much as he can and will play without any issues.

So far it seems his favorite activities is out walking with his humans on trails (leashed) - and he loves when people pay attention to him. HIs marking are quite beautiful in person - much better than they look here in pictures.

Petey started out at Memphis Animal Services after being hit by a car - he was in tremendous pain and after seeing he had a pelvic fracture on x-ray, he was scheduled for euthanasia but there was no way one of our front line rescuers was going to let that happen.

I’ve not always been so lucky in life. Just over a month ago I was hit by a car and I had a lot of pain. When I was found some really nice people took me to Memphis Animal Services to help me find help. When I arrived the people were nice to be and took photographs and X-rays. The X-rays showed that I had a broken pelvis. That explained why I was so painful. I had so much pain that the doctors at the shelter scheduled me for euthanasia.

Foster dad called us to see if we could squeeze Petey into our program and here he is. His fracture is healing slowly but he doesn’t seem to be in pain any longer and time will just continue to help - he should not have any residual problems.

His human foster sister has him sleeping in bed with her and he loves it so we hope to find another family that may let this happen again!!

If this sweet and very handsome boy might fit into your family, don’t hesitate to apply

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
