Lucy Lou is just a sweetheart. And those ears and eyes!!

This one blue eyed girl was adopted in Longview, TX and her owner grew tired of the responsibility of being a dog owner. Fortunately, the vet tech asked if she could try to get Lucy into a rescue.

Lucy has been great with the two 8 yr old dogs in foster home. She’s very friendly and very active ,so she may not do well with older or lower energy dogs. She LOVES to be outside and to run. She really lit up when foster mom started fostering a large 8 month old pup. Lucy plays and plays with her. They have a great time playing chase and rolling and tumbling around the yard. She was also very good with an 8 week old short term foster in the home. She is a very easy dog to have around.

Lucy Lou would make a wonderful running buddy. She does fine on leash. Would benefit with basic training. Lucy Lou is food motivated which is a HUGE benefit when training. She already rocks at sit and shake but does love a good shoe to chew…great reason to keep them stored away:)
Lucy is house trained to a doggie door, will need to work with her on cues. When she is home alone, she is gated in a small area where the doggie door is.
She tolerates being crated at night with the crate next to her foster, but we do not feel she would be too tolerant of a crate when left alone. She is such a people person, who loves having her humans close. Therefore, a household where someone is in the home a good amount of time would be best for her.

This pretty girl would be great with older kids, but due to energy she may be too excited for young ones. Lucy plays with lots of toys and loves to retrieve them until her attention changes to something else.

Lucy Lou would be happiest with another young, playful dog in the house. If she is an only dog, she would do amazingly in an active household. A fenced yard would be recommended because this girl LOVES to run! Lucy tolerates the car well, but had only been on short rides.

After a day of play, she loves to cuddle her human on the couch. If this sweet girl seems like a perfect fit for you, please apply for her. She is simply a great dog!

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
