Hello! This precious boy is Sparty and he is looking for a new home!! This guy is housebroken, sweet, loving, social, dog and cat friendly, crate trained, ACTUALLY he is just about PERFECT.

Sparty came to us as a matted mess. He was found by a young girl who wanted to help him. Initially, she was told by local animal control that he did not have a microchip. So we took him into rescue.

We immediately noticed something did not seem right with him and he was excessively drinking. To the vet we went and he was found to have an extremely high blood sugar. Our boy was diabetic, but he was microchipped.
We found out is name was Sparty and he was 11 years old. First we addressed his medical issues, then worked on trying to find his owner.

After a lengthy investigation, we sadly learned that Sparty’s mom passed away last year and her son was trying to take care of him but not doing a very good job at it. He was missing for 2-3 months and he never even reported him missing….Grrrr!
Thank goodness he decided it best to surrender this precious boy to rescue so he could live his life out in a loving, safe home.

Sparty is looking for a home that is warm and loving. Being older, he does not need a lot of activity, but he is young at heart and still likes to play!

This boy would enjoy a nice stroll every now and then, a soft bed, and lots of love. He will love you with all his heart for as long as you will let him.
Being diabetic, Spart does require daily insulin and blood sugar monitoring to make sure all is on track.

This precious senior promises to be your bestest little old man!! He will give you cuddles and warm your lap and your bed and put paw prints on your heart.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
