What can we say about Nolan? He is a gentle giant with a very sweet soul.

While rescuing a momma dog in TN, Nolan and his friend, Chico, (also for adoption) approached her rescuers and asked if they could come to her home too. In the van they went. They rarely approached their street caretakers, but on that day, they decided it was their time. They must have been tired of always being in survival mode and competing for resources.
The children in the neighborhood helped the rescuers get them in the van. They said that Nolan was a good boy when he hung around them. They really liked him and were so happy that he would never have to sleep on the streets ever again.

Nolan had been a stray on the streets for quite some time. This boy was very busy on the street just trying to get through each day, so he’s got a couple scars from his days of competition.

Nolan is currently living with very many large breed dogs including his street buddy. He will initiate play with his pack mates. They play chase and run around with a toy and play tug of war.
He warms up to some dogs, females much better, but a dog that tries to dominate, would be an upsetting situation for Nolan; he is still trying to sort out the difference between a dominant dog and a fearful dog.

Every day, Nolan displays more and more confidence and trust. He now will come up and try to give his foster mom hugs and then start to act all silly. It is a pleasure to see.

Nolan’s energy level is low to moderate. He loves to just walk around outside and take naps in the sunshine, probably because he used to living outside. But, he also likes to come in and snuggle up on a big soft dog bed and have a good snooze. He will even lie next to his foster siblings. He will also take naps in his crate.

Nolan is house trained. He walks very well on a leash, and he does not get overly excited. He did hang around some of the children in the neighborhood that he roamed and the children told us Nolan was a nice boy with them. They were so excited when he was rescued!!!

This guy loves to be pet, brushed, made to feel special and just lights up when he’s told what a very good dog he is.

Nolan will be a loyal and loving friend and companion for many years to come. He is truly such an awesome dude to hang out with!
