Now Fostering in New England!

Are you looking for a medium-sized, dog and cat-loving young dog? Then we have the dog for you. Arma, short for armadillo. Arma has journeyed north from Memphis and came out of the transport van, tail wagging.

What can we tell you about Arma- she loves everyone and wants to cuddle as much as possible. She is ready to go for a walk when you pull out that leash. Game of fetch, tug of war, just about any toy will do as she is ready to have a good time. She is a mix of active and cuddling, so she would love a location where she can run around and get her energy out or a home with a doggy friend she can play with. Bonus she is cat friendly.
She loves the other dogs and cuddles with the kitties. She’s super nice with people she meets and is really just a good girl.

How are her manners, you ask? She knows to sit, is learning down, and relax. She is also learning she gets more attention when she sits and waits for love rather than jumping. Because she is still very young and jumps, no small children will be best. She is good on the leash, especially zig-zagging but is not a puller. She has also learned she must sit before going outside. She likes the car and has no problem jumping right in. She is just starting in the crate and telling us when she needs to go outside. Her default is to bark first and wag, but she is working on her reactive barking at her foster home.

What is her backstory? She and her surviving baby were found roaming around Memphis - he was so tiny (and had no fur - genetic, not from being sick). She took such good care of him. He was adopted about one month ago, and we’ve been waiting for the right time to get her on our website, and now is Momma Arma’s time.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
