Golf - Fostering in RI
Gold and his friend Mike (female, also listed) came to use from the Memphis Animal Shelter where they were confiscated in a cruelty case. Their owner was cited, and his dogs were taken away. They have not had a great start in life, but they are blossoming now that they are in caring, loving foster homes.
They were slow to trust the humans they encountered when the arrived to Rhode Island in foster care, but have been making MAJOR strides. They were kept together for the first week and then separated as it was felt they’d do better w/o the other to lean on - and it has worked.
Golf is now engaging with his foster siblings, running around the yard and just being a dog.
In his first foster home he did really well with all the dogs and his fosters’ three children aged 6+. No issues on that front.
It will be very important for Golf to have another happy, confident dog in his new forever home. He models himself after the other dogs and will go outside carefree if they do. It’s the best therapy!!
Golf will do great with someone who is patient and ready and willing to help him blossom into the wonderful companion we know he can be. It will be a very rewarding experience to watch him learn the world isn’t always such a scary place.
This handsome guy will not last long once people see that face and that really adorable picture… you know which one I mean!!

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
