Spirit is a fun, spunky, full of energy young lady who adores having both human and dog companions.

She loves to run and play fetch with her foster siblings who range from 50-80lbs. She was also very sweet with a puppy who was also at her foster home. She is unbothered by the cats she has meet and only shows some interest in them.

Spirit still gets excited easily and is learning her manners. She would really enjoy completing some basic training classes with you! She has a great foundation: walks decent on a leash, knows the sit command, and is potty trained. The one thing she does not enjoy is being crated (we are working on that)!

Spirit has been around an 8 year old boy many times and does really well with him. We don’t recommend children under 7, as she still can be jumpy and may knock a young child over.

She has been around two cats at her foster’s home. Poor Spirit just wants to be friends with everyone, and is in the process of learning that not all cats want a doggie friend. She tries to play non-aggressively, but after being hissed and swatted at, she accepts defeat and walks away.

Spirit is a high energy girl and would do best in a home where she receives lots of exercise. She’d love to join you for an outdoor adventure or a game of fetch. She’d also make a great running partner!

One last fun fact about Spirit, she LOVES car rides where she can have the wind in her face!!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
