Meet our newest love bug with the cutest pout, Punkin.

This girl wandered onto a kind person’s property in a very rural area, the woman took her in and knew she would make a new family happy. She was friendly and affectionate from the get go. Punkin seemed to have been someone’s pet at some point. She is comfortable in the house and around all people.

It obvious that Punkin has been bred multiple times, but those days are over for her. She was noted to have a visible right eye injury and an ear abrasion. Our vet said her eye condition could’ve been from physical injury, or she could have been born with a non-functional micro eye. She may see some shadows out of that eye, but nothing more, if anything. It does not need surgery or any other treatment besides her initial antibiotics and steroids. Punkin is not phased by her partial blindness at all!! Her ears look like they have had hematomas that have healed. These just need to be monitored.

Punkin is enjoying her quality time with her foster mom. In her temporary home she has chickens, goats, cats and horses! She has no problems with any other them. She is a very calm and mellow, just a quite love bug and seems to love all people and things.

Crate training in in process and she is working on house training, she is brought out regularly to get her used to a routine. She walks well on a leash and is interested, but not reactive when she sees other dogs. This girl also does fine in a car.

Punkin is truly a total sweetheart, so chill and friendly!! Her ideal home would be with someone who enjoys relaxing and spending time on the couch. This girl deserves to be able to just take it easy and thrive in a safe and warm home.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
