If you are looking low energy, loyal, snuggly loving companion, Millie is your girl!!
Millie was rescued this fall in the south. She has been with her rescuer/foster parents ever since.
Millie lived in the county outside of Memphis city limits. She roamed with two other dogs that were also rescued. Folks would sometimes feed Millie and her mates by a busy intersection.
She was also fed by a nice gentleman in his backyard. He believes that she was dumped as a puppy as she had been around for awhile.
Millie, although only about two years old, appears to of had a litter of puppies at sometime during her young life.
This girl is still a bit leery of new folks and it takes her a bit to warm up. But that’s to be expected from a dog that has pretty much lived away from people her whole life!!
For this reason we had Millie stay with her foster an extra bit of time to get used to being around people. And boy, has her personality emerged!
Amazingly, Millie is the most loyal, loving, snuggling dog with her foster and other foster dogs in her pack. She has hung out with a small dogs, big dogs, bossy dogs in her foster home with no problem…very non-reactive!
Millie loves to be close and touching. And what is a beautiful girl; with her freckles and the most beautiful red and white coat!
When she looks at you with her sweet droopy eyes, it just melts your heart and makes you give her a big hug and kiss!!
Millie is happy just hanging out all day with her pack and foster mom. She occasionally will play a little bit of chase in the back yard and enjoys an occasional leash walk at the park, but she is definitely more of a homebody.
She loves to be scratched, have her tummy rubbed and just snuggle.
Millie is crate trained if needed. But really just chills out on a dog bed or the couch even when her foster parents leave the house.
Millie is not a chewer and does not destroy anything.
Millie has not lived with any children, nor has she been around any cats.
Milly loves a car ride and a trip to McDonald’s for a chicken nugget.
If you are looking for a calm natured, tender, cuddly soulmate, look no further.
However, please remember that you must be willing to have patience and give this sweet girl time to adjust when meeting new people, as she will be nervous (and may even initially hide).
But take our word for it, you can’t help but love this girl with all of your heart!

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
