This majestic, beautiful boy is Madden.
Madden is a superstar in North Mississippi, and has followers, fans, and supporters from all over who have watched him during his incredible journey to wellness.

Madden showed up as a stray this past summer, at a home in North Mississippi, and had no use of his legs. The homeowner reached out for help from a local rescue, who immediately took him to a veterinary clinic for help.
Upon arriving at the clinic, the staff were doubtful of his survival chances. Along with paralysis, he was suffering from dehydration from the Mississippi heat.
They gave him IV hydration and antibiotics, and amazingly, Madden responded to the treatment. Within a week, he was able to take a few steps with assistance.
Madden was then placed in a wonderful foster home, where he received around the clock care and attention.

After several weeks of Madden only still being able to take only a few steps with assistance, his foster mom requested further testing.

Extensive testing was conducted at the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Madden was then diagnosed with Immune Mediated Polyarthritis/Arthropathy (IMPA).
Now with a definite diagnoses, Madden was prescribed the proper medications, and we literally watched a MIRACLE unfold. Madden quickly regained complete use of his legs and started running and playing with such amazing energy!!

Madden now lives a perfectly normal life, and his autoimmune disorder is in complete remission. He loves playing chase with the other foster dogs, chasing tennis balls, jumping on the trampoline, and playing in the water in the kiddie pool.
Madden also loves snuggling and quiet time.

This boy is perfect around small children, and loves to cuddle with them while watching TV.
He gets along with all of the other dogs without incident.
He loves cats as well, and has never chased or barked at any.
He’s leash trained and enjoys long walks on a cool afternoon.

Madden is crate trained, mainly at night, and doesn’t make a fuss about going into his crate at bedtime. He has no problem being left alone. As long as he has chew toys, (Benebones are his favorite!) he doesn’t chew on household items.

Madden loves car rides, and is always ready to go. He enjoys looking out the window and feeling the wind while he’s traveling. Madden is now a very spry dog that loves time with his family and other dog siblings and would do best in an active family with children and/or young, active adults.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
