Callie’s foster parents are madly in love with her but have two kids and one dog already and their house just won’t accommodate another, no matter how hard they try!!

A great thing about Callie, in addition to her super personality, she’s fostering right in Rhode Island so you get to meet her!!

Here’s what her foster family says -

Callie is the perfect family dog. She loves kids (especially babies) and other dogs. She’s currently living with human foster siblings who are 3 years old and 7 months old and has a canine foster sister who she loves to play and wrestle with. Callie is a cuddler extraordinaire who will happily snuggle with you on the couch.

She’s crate trained and will go in by herself when she needs some alone time. No stuffed toy is safe from this girl but she does know the “drop it” command.

Callie has been through a lot in her 3 years but is the most resilient girl. She won’t be running any marathons but shouldn’t have any long term side effects from her surgeries. Joint supplements will helpful in her future.

Don’t miss out on this amazing girl who will be an awesome addition to any family.

Callie came into rescue as a stray in Little Rock with a bilateral lower limb deformity which has been corrected but with a resultant limp and potential arthritis. She saw an orthopedic surgeon here in New England who removed one of the rods that had broken lose from her original surgery - their recommendation is to leave this as is - she should not have any major issues and so far it doesn’t seem she is.

Callie is approximately 2 years old with the most sweet disposition. She loves the sun and basking in it anywhere she can. Loves loves her Kong especially when it has something good stuffed in there.

Her favorite snacks include: carrots, green beans, bananas, and basically any dog treats she can get her paws on. She is an expert-level snuggler on the couch in the evening, she’ll happily let you choose what to watch on tv, and sits quietly all day next to your desk snoring through Zoom meetings and calls.

Callie is low energy and would love to be your work-from-home buddy. She still does have a teensy bit of puppy energy in that she jumps up when excited, but she settles quickly with correction and mostly just wants to make sure you give her belly rubs.

Lastly, she absolutely loves car rides and wants to go wherever you’re going.

NO CATS FOR THIS GIRL!!

We hope you’ll consider this angel - she’s had it rough traveling around with her legs in the condition they were but now has the time to relax and enjoy her new life.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
