This adorable litter of puppies was born to a Walker hound mix who was dumped in the country. The person who found them was able to find homes for several of the puppies and asked for a rescue to help with the others. Who could say no to helping this sweet foursome?

They are all very social, have a friendly temperament, are not skittish, and have not shown any separation anxiety or food aggression. They love to play with people, dogs, and toys. They are overall sweet, playful puppies who love attention, as most puppies do. They enjoy taking a dip in their baby pool on a hot summer day and could play all day.

They are all doing fairly well on leash and will not charge for the door unless they know you are taking them out to play. Did we mention they love to play? They don’t jump up on you when inside, but jump some outside or if excited. They will alert you if someone comes to the fence, but they don’t bark excessively. They will need continued training, as all puppies do.

They have only been around children when out and about socially. And might be to active for a home with very young kids or toddlers. They get along with other dogs and love running the fence line with other dogs in their foster home. They have never been around cats, so we are unsure how they will react.

They ride fine in the car but have always been crated. When foster mom is at work, they have been kenneled with no issue.

PLEASE - Think long and hard before adopting a puppy - consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with - he cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he’s older, puppy proofing your home will be necessary, puppies scratch and nip so if you have small children, can they handle this?? Training will be so important in this puppy’s life, do you have the time??

Please consider purchasing this book before adopting.  Perfect Puppy in 7 Days - How to Start Your Puppy Off Right, Sophia Yin, DVM - it is an amazing book that we recommend very highly and have had amazing feedback on.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
