This brindle beauty is Smoochy, a very playful young girl! Smoochy was found with her one month old puppies in the rural south. All of them were scooped up and brought to a foster home, where everyone thrived. Smoochy was a great mama to her babies, all three got great adopted homes. As we always say, now it is mom’s turn to find her forever home.

Smoochy would be best suited in a home where a female is the primary caretaker and she is given ample doggie socialization, either with a canine sibling, or playgroups. This girl needs slow introductions to new people as she can be initially scared of adults she is not familiar with. We think Smoochy had some negative interactions with men who are on the tall and larger side. Her foster dad is 6’3” and she was very afraid of him when she arrived. She was not aggressive in anyway, she would not go near him and would hide. She now interacts just fine with her foster dad, but it did take sometime to get to this point.

Smoochy is equally playful with puppies, small or large dogs. She loves them all! But no kitties for this girl, she is a little to curious.

She is house and crate trained. She will easily enter her crate when directed without issue, she sleep all night with any noise. Smoochy loves her walks and is great on a leash and with meeting other dogs on the way.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
