Response to Help Wanted Ad: At Home Assistant

Is your home in need of an eye for decoration? Do you need help opening up items around your house and unpacking groceries? Are your kitchen counters overflowing and need a good clearing every day that you just don’t have time to get to? Do you enjoy obstacle courses from the living room to the kitchen or bathroom?

Then River is the girl to help you out!

River excels in using her dexterity for opening up ottomans and strategically placing its components around the living area, making sure the floor is always covered just enough to impair your walking paths. She’ll make sure no matter how many times you put the items back, they’re there waiting to be stepped on each and every day.

And she’ll be right there when you drop your bags every day, waiting to unpack whatever might be in there. Banana you didn’t eat from lunch? No problem, she’ll take it out and show you just what you forgot. Important papers from work? She’ll bring those around the house and leave them in the least practical place, so you can play some hide and seek later.

River is also a pro at helping to organize the kitchen. Any counter that needs clearing is just the right task for her. Leftovers get moved to the dog zone on the floor, so you don’t need to put them away. Cups and plates will be licked, and any loose items will get pushed off to the side so you have room for prepping your next meal (let’s be honest, it will be her next snack). She’s a bit of bull-in-a-china shop when she’s on the move, and her short height doesn’t stop what she can reach to help with. When she’s working, she doesn’t care what’s in her way, so kids under 12 are a no-go.

Need a car companion? River is GREAT in the car. She’ll check out the whole cabin and make sure there’s nothing out of place – and if there is, she’ll give it a chew to let you know. She’ll also protect you from spilling hot coffee all over yourself – because let’s face it, those travel lids just keep it too hot. She’ll discard that lid for you in less than a minute, and give it a taste test to check that temperature. If you need something in the hatch, no problem, just give her a holler and she’ll jump on in the trunk to grab it for you. Good luck getting her to hop back in the backseat though. Don’t worry though, once she’s good and tired, she’ll just lay her head on your lap and help you out with moving the gears when you don’t need them changed.

Finally, after a hard days worth of work, she provides a soothing soundtrack of 60 year-old-man post Thanksgiving dinner snores, and will snuggle up as your personal space heater. If you need a facial, complete with exfoliation and moisturizing, she comes equipped with an extra long tongue and loves to give facials (just ask Santa). All in a cute brown fur package weighing in at about 40 pounds (now there’s a weighted blanket!).

If you’ve been looking for a helping hand, look no further!

She requires rent free vacation days and will use these up as available. Ideally, for her own good and yours, 6+ vacation days a week are needed and these will need to include another playful dog sibling (any size, she loves them all!), and a fenced in area to run. All that energy needs to go somewhere when she’s not hard at work around the house! She’s never worked with a cat around, so her productivity may change depending on those around. House rules that are clearly articulated and positively enforced with food (any food, all food, she’s not picky) are also needed for a stress free vacation day.

River has a fantastic disposition - she loves all dogs and all people, but is still a puppy! She needs proper exercise and continued training to be the lovable, wonderful companion she is, and she deserves a home that will help provide this for her!
