Do you need a co-pilot? This mom is ready for her turn at happily ever after!

Shannon is the mom of the Bilek litter who have all been fortunate enough to find great homes through Paws New England. Shannon came from a home that cared nothing about her or her puppies. She nor the puppies were being fed, or cared for in any form. They were all free to run loose to be hit by a car or attacked by predators in the wooded area behind their “home”. Fortunately foster space was available for Shannon and her puppies.

This is a great dog who needs a patient and loving family. Shannon is perfectly happy alone with foster mom. She also enjoys playing with dogs who are not “over the top”. She likes medium or low energy dogs best. She’s a very calm and sweet girl. She’s a little unsure of herself in general, was skittish at first, but not anymore. She loves a lap nap now, but initially she had difficulty relaxing presumably because she had never known the inside of a loving home or being lavished with attention.

Shannon loves leisurely walks, she walks so great on a leash that even the fosters grandchild can walk her, just check out her videos!

She prefers to be inside with her person but when outside she will go get dusty with the best of them. She is not your fetch or tug-of-war type dog. She enjoys being snug in a small crate or beside her foster on the couch.

She also lives with a one year old child and is not bothered at all! She is crate trained and house trained to a doggie door.

Shannon is a very sweet girl. She will likely need a little time to decompress in a new home and should be considered a flight risk. Foster mom says this girl is an easy foster. She’s very chill. Shannon would be an appropriate dog for an older person who had the patience to allow her time to decompress. She likes to be with her person. Shannon makes a good co-pilot on car rides, she loads easily, stays on her side, loves the AC and doesn’t rush to get out!

Shannon had to learn to play when she first arrived at her foster home but has progressed to the point that she enjoys play and sometimes even initiates it.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
