We have amazing news about our Perfect Little Peach! She has made it through her heartworm treatment (not a bit worse for wear) and is ready to begin her life in her Forever Home!

Don’t let the fact that this Little Mama is a Mama fool you. She is all sass and puppy playfulness. She’s 2 which means we’ve gotten her up to date on vaccines and had her spayed, but she’s still a puppy in her attitude!

She needs some manners – we recommend basic obedience. She would be GREAT channeling her energy into advanced training if you think that would be interesting! She’s smart and eager to please.

She’s pretty excited to be around people and can jump from excitement. She will need to be redirected/ taught that jumping isn’t necessary to initiate play with people. Because of her puppy nature, she can still be a little mouthy (not biting. Just trying to get you to pay attention to her and redirecting your hands – totally normal puppy behavior that will go away with training and consistency) but she has improved a lot in the weeks she has been in her foster home.

We think she will do OK in a home with older/dog savvy kids. It isn’t that she has BAD manners; it’s just that she was never taught what good manners look like. She needs a home that will work with her on that. She’s also VERY interested in cats! She can live with a very dog savvy cat, but she is absolutely going to chase and try to play with them hard. That might be too much for some cats. She isn’t aggressive with them; just energetic and mouthy.

She is good on a leash ( we recommend using a harness as she still likes to pull a bit).

We think what Peach wants most is a family willing to give her structure and boundaries as she learns all the rules. She would also ADORE having another playful dog in the home. Peach’s favorite things are playing with her dog friends and playing with her people. If she’s going to be an only dog, she would thrive in day care as well! She is happy and confident and ready to be a member of your Pack!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
