“The things that make me different are the things that make me me” – Piglet, in Winnie the Pooh

Know what else we learned from Winnie the Pooh? That every day is better with a little HUNNEY in it! Here’s your chance to have a little Hunney in your life every single day!

Hunney is a 1-year-old, 56 pound mixed breed love finally ready to find her forever home! She’s most likely a blend of lots of breeds, and every one of them gives her something special.

Hunney has been in our care for a while because when she was found as a stray, she had eight little Hunnies almost ready to be born! She hopped right into a kind person’s car and headed to her maternity home where she fit right in with her foster family’s Pack! She also fit right into their hearts!

She gave birth to her 8 pups we called Hunney’s Bunnies, and proved to be an excellent mom to all. Her bunnies found their own homes, and now that she is spayed, it is Hunney’s turn!

This girl really is a gem! She’s housetrained in her foster home, gentle in disposition, and loves playing fetch and taking leash walks. She hasn’t been through formal obedience training (which we recommend for all dogs), but she is a very mannerly lady so far!

At a year, she’s still pretty much a puppy herself and is still chewing, so having things she can chew on is a must! She sleeps well in a kennel but can be left out for short periods at her foster home as well. (We recommend new adopters observe her for a while before trusting any pup alone!)

Hunney is sharing space with LOTS of dogs in a cage free day care situation now. She hasn’t been around cats, but her foster mom says she doesn’t imagine Hunney would have any issues with them.

Hunney was born with something called Carpal Valgus (an outward turning of the paw). This is congenital and requires no treatment. She has no pain from it at all, and all it means is that she has a “funky arm” (as we call it). It is a visual difference only – Hunney was born this way, and she doesn’t let it slow her down at all!

Hunney loves to play in a yard, and she loves to lounge around in the sun. She’s prone to the zoomies but also likes to cuddle up with her people after getting out all her energy.  She’s an all around great young dog! She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all her shots! She was heartworm negative on her last test and is on preventative.

Hunney is very adaptable and can live in lots of different kinds of homes. If you think she’d add sweetness to your life, apply for her today!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
