Leah is a very energetic terrier mix who always wants to greet you with a slobbery kiss!
This girl adapts to anything situation you may throw at her and she’s always in the best mood. Her foster calls her a “big strong mushy snuggle bug”

Leah was brought into a southern vet clinic from the local humane society. She remained in boarding for quite some time (many months) until a foster home became available. She now resides there and and has done well but her months of boarding with little to no enrichment left her lacking in social skills.

We sent Leah to a board and train farm as we wanted to confirm where she was in terms of socialization. The Champion farm team confirmed that she was not comfortable in super hectic/busy situations and they slowly conditioned her with confidence building; she made visits to stores such as Home Depot where she improved her leash skills and social skills - she’s comfortable with attention from humans and dogs.

This girl is crate trained and appears to be housetrained as well.

We’d like to see Leah in a home with bully experience; she can most definitely share a home with another confident dog or be the only dog soaking up the attention.

Leah has not had any direction in her short life but has been given the tools we hope you can continue (we will of course provide access to her trainer and further training if needed.

Leah is an affectionate girl full of personality and would make a wonderful pet for an active family or an individual who wants to take her for walks or runs as she is an very energetic girl and just loves to explore.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
