Fostered in New England and loving it.

Pixie’s local foster mom sent us this information - so you’re getting it right from someone who knows her well.

This girl is so sweet and has a lot to give - she just needs the right family that is willing to put in the work to see her full potential.

In her short life she has been moved around multiple times, no fault of her own, just bad luck. If you’re willing to give this girl the time and love she needs the reward will be priceless.

Pixie is a sweet girl with medium energy. After a walk or playing fetch she is happy hanging out with her humans. She loves people, little and big, but since coming to New England she is feeling a little shy and takes some time warming up to new people. Once she feels comfortable she can’t get enough of you, and sometimes wants to jump up and give you a kiss. So, I’m thinking maybe no young kids because of the jumping. We are working on it, and it’s going great, but want to be safe, she’s a big girl at 65lbs.

Her favorite things are snuggling with humans and playing fetch. And of course belly rubs! We are working on her leash manners and she is doing great, though some times she has trouble holding back when seeing something exciting.

She is house trained and is very good about going in her crate. We just toss some treats in, and she follows.

Pixie likes playing with dogs, but I think she would be happy as the only dog in the house. She is truly a peoples dog.

If you’re willing to give this girl the time and love she needs you will have a best friend for life. Do you have the love and patience Pixie needs to fully blossom?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm see testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
