Spending too much time looking at your phone? Need a healthy distraction? Oscar is your man! If he wants your attention he will gently nudge you with his nose or reach out his paw letting you know he is there. He really enjoys being pet/scratched and let me tell you, you won’t want to stop. He has the softest coat!

Now fostering in New England. Oscar is a goofy, sweet, playful guy that will make you laugh daily. He is THE BEST snuggler! He loves his toys. He will quickly chew the stuffies and loves his peanut butter filled extreme kong. He is learning new commands, is eager to learn, very smart and treat motivated. He has learned SIT, STAY, DOWN, WAIT, LEAVE IT & PLACE in a few short weeks.

We walks well on a leash. He greets other dogs with a wagging tail and friendly demeanor but seems too strong and interested in small dogs. He is currently fostering with a teenager and his former foster reports no issues with supervised interactions with her grandchilden. He is house trained with occasional accidents when learning a new schedule or routine.

Oscar came from Mississippi. He was abandoned by his former owner (crazy…he is amazing)! He was found roaming the streets with his buddy and both were taken into rescue. Like many dogs down south, he is heartworm positive and has started Doxycycline to prepare for treatment. He is young and otherwise healthy.

Oscar is looking for a forever home that treats him like the family member he deserves.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
