He’s back!! Handsome Rusty!

We put Rusty on a temporary hold while he was fostering with a long-term friend getting back to basics and being a dog - he was wound a little too tight!

HIs foster dad worked with him on basically enjoying life - meeting new people, going on long walks etc. We found out one thing we didn’t know - Rusty LOVES kids - he was around his foster dad’s grandchildren and you could see he thoroughly enjoyed it.

He’s now in a board and train program - he has some issues seeing dogs on leash - we couldn’t decide if he wanted to visit or maybe not visit - he’s doing great and learning to ignore them on his walks. We think he’ll have it down in no time. He more than likely won’t be the kind of dog you want to drag around town everywhere but he’ll enjoy the car rides but hanging at home is his thing.

Rusty lived with another female dog and was her bestie - we are confident he can do that again - would need some slow intro’s which our trainer is happy to do with anyone interested. We do think he’d like to have another dog in his home to wrestle with.

This guy is stunning in real life - his pictures don’t quite capture his colors and his really sweet disposition.

Rusty is a lap dog… a lover boy, an expert snuggler, and a passionate, sloppy kisser! When he’s not hugging your hips and snoring on your lap or rocking with you in a hammock, he’s looking to play!

He enjoys long car rides. The more time spent close to you, the better.

If you want a dog to make you laugh and light up your life with loads of love, kisses, and attention, he’s the one!!

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
