Will Draper would like to apply for the position of your new Best Friend!

This handsome active boy has a lot of qualifications for the position!

According to his foster mom, Will is a goofy love bug. At 6 years old he was surrendered by his family due to financial hardship although he was well loved.

He is housebroken, rides well in the car, does not chew, doesn’t counter surf, and has never exhibited any separation anxiety. He does not need to be crated although he is fine with it.

He loves learning new commands, playing games, and practicing what he’s learned. He’s such a good student!

Spending quality time with you is his love language and he will bring you his toys to ask if you want to play. Will’s passion in life is people, and he makes a lasting impression on anyone that has met him. He would love to go to a home where his social cup could be filled on a regular basis and he adores a dinner party! He does well with children of all ages including toddlers but kids 8 and older are ideal for his home so that they can help maintain the ground rules that Will does so well with.

Will has made great strides in his foster home with a focus on bringing his emotions under control but the main thing that he is still working on is dog reactivity. He has made a lot of progress, but he struggles to stay calm when he has the opportunity to meet another dog, and this can present as frustrated aggression.

He is probably a better candidate for a more rural setting. He is great on a leash and loves walks although he requires an experienced handler due to his current dog reactivity. Will would do best as the only dog in the home for now although his foster mom and trainer from training app Goodpup strongly believe that working with a behaviorist may be the secret ingredient to unlock his full potential. His trainer is so impressed with him that she is happy to continue to work with his new family for a seamless transition. Will will bring you his unending love and loyalty and will keep you laughing with his goofy and playful personality.

Other than that, Will is up to date on all his shots and is neutered. He’s ready to start work as your new best friend just as soon as you fill out the application below!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
