Ever feel like life has gotten chaotic? You need Dino Delray to remind you how great it is to chill out.

Dino is a 2-year-old, 60 pound Pit-Mastiff mix who is currently fostering with us in New England (hint hint: this means you CAN have a meet and greet easily!) and is ready to find his forever family.

If you are high energy, running marathons twice a week and hiking Mount Everest every month? Well, Dino Delray will support you EMOTIONALLY, but he isn’t much interested in going beside you. This boy would much prefer a short run in the back yard, a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood, and a good round of binge watching some television (while he puts his head in your lap and looks at you like you hung the moon).

Dino came to us from a shelter in TN where he was a staff favorite. He is heartworm positive and currently undergoing treatment with his foster family in New England. We are covering the cost of that treatment and will work with his family to make sure it continues uninterrupted. During heartworm treatment, adopters need to keep dogs calm and sedate. Trust us when we say this will NOT be difficult with Dino. It’s his default setting. He is great on a leash, housetrained, and comfortable in a crate.

When Dino first came to us, he was kind of confused about being inside; even stairs were strange to him. Since he’s been with us, though, he has figured all that out and loves to snuggle with his foster parents in bed on the weekends! He’s a smart boy who will easily fit into almost any family.

Got a dog? Cool. No dog? Cool. Dino can live with or without them.

We think a home with dog savvy kids over 8 would be best, simply because this is a big solid boy. He shows no aggression, but he’s 60 pounds of stocky.

He has never tried to run away when his humans are around, but he did get out of the yard a few times when he first came to us. He should be supervised when he’s outside. If he gets a little bored, his instinct is to wander. If you keep an eye on him, he should be fine.

Because of his breeds, he does seem to have an interest in chasing small animals like rabbits and squirrels. We think this means he’s probably best in a home without cats. We don’t know that he will chase them, but he might.

If you are looking for a low energy but very sweet and happy best friend, apply to be Dino’s people on our website. Dino is up to date on all his shots and is already neutered.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
