Pinky, (aka Pinkalicious, Pinky-Pie, Pinkster) is an international sensation, traveling from Iran to join PAWS New England to find her furever home! This sweet girl arrived in the United States with her passport-in-paw last June. She has spent the past 6 months with her amazing foster family learning all the American dog ways, as well as teaching her paw brothers a thing or two. Pinky is now a dual canine citizen, if such a thing existed.

Pinky is a special girl. In Iran she was hit by a car and suffered bilateral hind leg fractures that were repaired. She spent one year in the vet clinic as no one claimed her or would adopt her. Unfortunately, the repairs weren’t successful and she has limited mobility in her right hind leg.

While under the care of PAWS New England, she has been checked out by veterinarians, surgeons and completed physical therapy at Canine New England. Pinky worked very hard and has made tremendous progress. You would be surprised how these injuries have not slowed this girl down at all. Pinky runs around her backyard chasing her canine friends with great speed, and has no problem going up & down stairs or jumping on beds & couches. Patti, her physical therapist, says her “bunny hop” run will allow her to be an active dog and run with the best of them. We are hopeful she will not need additional repair.

Pinky’s beauty and sweet nature attracts people wherever she goes. She loves nothing more than to be with her humans and receive affection. If you’re petting her and stop, she will nudge you with her nose or paw you to continue. Nothing makes her happier than snuggling next to her humans and canine siblings on the couch and bed.

Pinky loves riding in the car and going for walks on trails and in the woods. She is house trained and is happy to stay in her exercise pen when the family leaves the house.

After breakfast and playing out the yard, she enjoys chewing one of  her favorites bones before napping. Pinky is fostering with teenage children and feel this is best for her.

This girl will definitely be a loving and loyal companion to a lucky family!

To make sure Pinky continues to stay active, she needs to be placed in a home with canine companions (at least one) and a fenced yard to run. It’s also best that she be placed in a home with adults and children ages 12+

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
