Sophie is a sweet girl who has been through a lot in the last 8 months. Through no fault of her own, she has been moved around to different homes. She is ready to settle down and find her forever home!

True to her breed, she has lots of energy and loves to run off leash, with other dogs she knows, when in a fenced in area. She enjoys to play tug and especially the chase game. After she gets her energy out, she loves to snuggle with you or chew on her bones.

At night she will even go under the covers in bed and likes to sleep “in” every morning!!

Also true to her breed, this girl is no dope and is very smart.   Sophie is house and crate trained and knows basic obedience commands: sit, down, stay, place, wait, heel.   She will thrive with a firm handler that rewards often.

She has a strong prey drive so probably wouldn’t be able to live with a cat.

Sophie does better with older kids as she might be too much for younger kids due to her herding instincts.

Her photos don’t do her justice - her coat is just so pretty with her multi-colors and freckling.

If you can’t resist these ears, what are you waiting for? Put in an application to help Sophie find her forever home!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
