Taco is one of the most special, goofy, and happy dogs his foster family has ever met. After a rough start (adopted and returned), he has truly come out of his shell in the time that he’s spent with his fosters.

His goofy and loving personality has come out as he’s become more confident in himself and the world around him. What makes Taco so special is the abundance of love he’s ready to share with the people that come into his life! T

One of his foster friends said that his excitement to love humans is evident in that she would occasionally go on walks with he and his foster dad; as soon as he her from down the block, hi ears would perk up and he’d bounce around so excited to see her.

From his foster’s friend:
He is very manageable to walk, and his leash manners continue to improve each time I see him. He’s a sniffer, so he likes to take his time on short walks just to be sure he’s checked out everything. Occasionally, he will unleash some enthusiastic bouncing on our walks, but he is very easy to refocus back on whoever is holding the leash. Unlike many rescue dogs who may be fearful of large trucks or loud cars, Taco is excellent at managing distractions and does not get overstimulated on busy roads with lots of activity, including people, bikes, or other dogs.

Although VERY excited to greet visitors, he is always extremely polite when new people come into his space; he doesn’t appear to have any signs of “guarding” or being overly protective of his space. He is eager to say hello and excited to give me all his love as soon as you step through the door.

He is incredibly gentle while playing tug of war and any other mouthy game; his respect for boundaries while playing and his clear attention to being gentle has always impressed me.

We are confident that with continued basic training, he will continue to master his leash skills and overall become increasingly confident in this exciting world.

In short, Taco is a ball of absolute love and happiness. Whether it’s the constant glances throughout walks or his firm belief that he’s a lap dog, there’s no doubt that all Taco wants is to show his people that he loves them. He will make the perfect addition to any family looking for a happy-go-lucky dog and a completely loyal companion.

He does prefer to play with dogs that are smaller than him.
