Roscoe is a really good boy. Very silly and playful and a complete cuddle bug. He loves chasing balls and zooming in the yard and rolling in the grass. He gets a long great with his three doggo foster siblings. He’s not a fan of getting in his crate, but is quiet and well behaved in it.
At least one other dog in his home to play with in the yard would be amazing for him - he loves them!
As you can see here, he really really loves having a yard to play in with his friends: https://youtu.be/8mxwE2QxGMk
We don’t typically say a fenced yard is a requirement but for this boy, young and energetic, if he is to have another playmate, this is something he needs.
This good boy is house trained and is making great improvements on a leash.
This super sweet and gorgeous guy has a serious case of protecting his home - if you are super social and have kids/adults coming into the home every day at all hours of the day, this isn’t your dog.
Unfortunately this protective behavior was not caught early enough in his previous home and corrected and at this point it would be difficult to have him “unlearn” it.
Therefore, a home where visitors are minimal is this guys perfect home.
His behavior CAN EASILY BE managed in a home - he requires to be crated or separated in a room when you have expected company - he doesn’t need to meet all your friends. We never understand why that’s a must anyway. Not all dogs love meeting new people, he’s probably not all that different from many - that’s why they bark at your door!!
His foster family is working with him on going to his crate when people are coming to the door and perhaps introducing him when they are in the house but this is not something that is a must. Keep him separate - give him something to do -a book to read, a bone to chew. That’s it - they go home, he comes out and is back to being the amazing dog he is.
The family does have a dog walker that comes and gets the dogs each day and he does fine with her coming in - and he does fine out walking with the dogs!
This boy will absolutely thrive in the right home.
