Rouge and Lyla were a pair of friends that were rescued from the frigid cold in TN. Our southern partner rescue had been looking after both of them for quite some time while being chained in their owners yard, the only life they knew. The owners then decided to surrender them and have them re-homed and we were more then happy to oblige. ​

Lyla is a gorgeous low rider with striking white fur with brindle patches. She is shy, submissive and timid at first, but very loving, happy and a very fast learner. She is very friendly with other dogs and likes to run and play chase.

This girl walks fine on a leash and loves walks. She did join her foster mom on a jog and made it the 5K, but she doesn’t think these are necessary for her forever home. Just a walk is fine with her. Lyla rides very well in the car. She likes to sit quietly at the window and watch the world go by.

At night she sleeps in the living room curled up on the sofa and is trustworthy in the house. This girl is also housetrained.Lyla is crate trained and if you throw a treat in first, she is sure to follow!! She keeps her crate clean and dry. She can be crated when left alone in the house without issue.

She thrives in a calm environment and really comes out of her shell. No city life for this girl….too much noise and stimulation. She has had enough stimulation when she lived outside, and isn’t totally used to these inside things such as visitors, door bells, and kids. She would prefer a home that doesn’t have kids as they are a little too noisy and fast moving for her.

Lyla is truly the whole package; quiet, attentive, well-behaved, smart and she loves to snuggle and to have her head rubbed. if you have a quiet home and are looking for a true companion, she will be your shadow.

It is truly a beautiful thing to watch this girl embracing being able to run free and relax and sleep in a warm comfy house instead of outside in the elements. She truly is a delight!!

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
