Rouge was rescued in TN from being chained in the yard during the past winter freeze. Our southern partner rescue had been looking after her for quite some time. Finally, during the midst of the winter freeze, the owners decided to surrender her. We were more then happy to oblige in finding her a new home!

Rouge is a total sweetie pie girl with beautiful “blue” fur, just waiting for a family she can make smile every day. Some of her favorite things to do include:
- Run and play with another dogs- if you have a pup that likes to play - this is the dog for her!
- Play in the water - if you don’t have a little pool, no problem - she makes her own when she has a water dish outside- she’ll “paddle” in her water dish
- Car rides - She has learned they go to great new places.
- Walkies - She’s working REALLY hard on understanding what that leash thing is for…. But she isn’t sure why her human gets aggravated when she crosses from one side of them to another or slows down.
- Nap time - This girl settles well.

Rouge spent most of her life on a chain, so she hasn’t had much of an opportunity to hear new sounds or learn about a leash. She’ll need someone who is patient with her when she is skittish of new sounds and leash training.

Rouge is crate trained and always expects a treat once inside. She is very treat motivated! She keeps her crate clean and dry and waits quietly for her turn to go outside to potty and play. She is house trained when let out every few hours. She does chew on her bed or leash when she doesn’t get enough exercise.

Please consider adding Rouge to your household so she can continue to learn what it means to be a beloved member of a family! She will reward you richly with much laughter, love and attention!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
